Managed IT Services for UK Small Businesses and SMEs
Our managed IT services give British organisations a monthly plan that covers the routine work of keeping technology healthy: user support, patching, endpoint protection, backup monitoring, licence management and security reviews. Essential, Business and Enterprise tiers let you match cover to the size of your team.
We are a remote team, and we agree support hours that suit your business day before we start. Those hours and our response times are set out in your service agreement, and monitoring tools keep logging alerts outside them.
Plans are priced in US dollars and billed monthly. You keep ownership of your tenants, domains and licences, and we keep a clear record of every change we make on your behalf. Everything in a plan is delivered remotely, so a company looking for IT support in London, an office in Croydon and a practice in Leeds all receive the same service.

In short
What is a managed service provider (MSP)?
A managed service provider (MSP) is a company that runs a business's IT for a fixed monthly fee instead of being called only when something breaks. The MSP monitors devices, accounts, and the network continuously, fixes problems early, and keeps everything patched, secured, and backed up. TechPit Solutions delivers managed IT remotely, with support hours and response times set out in the service agreement.
- Best for businesses with no full-time IT person, or a single IT employee who needs backup cover and specialist help.
- Delivered remotely on a monthly per-user plan; onboarding starts with a discovery call and audit, and we give you a timeline after that call.
The problem
Without someone responsible for IT, updates get skipped, passwords get shared, backups are never tested, and the laptop that runs your business fails on the busiest day of the month.

What an MSP does
Everything a good IT department does, without hiring one
Help desk for your staff
One place for every IT question: password resets, new laptops, printer problems, email issues. Staff contact us by email, WhatsApp or phone, and every request is logged and tracked to completion.
Proactive monitoring
Agents on every device and alerts on your network and cloud accounts tell us about failing disks, full storage, missed updates and suspicious sign-ins, usually before anyone notices a problem.
Patching and maintenance
Operating systems, browsers and business apps are updated on a schedule you approve, with testing first and a rollback plan if an update misbehaves.
Security and backups
Endpoint protection, email filtering, multi-factor sign-in and backups that we actually test by restoring files, so recovery works when you need it.
Users and licences
We handle joiners, movers and leavers: accounts, devices, permissions and licences, so access is right from day one and removed on the last day.
Planning and reporting
Monthly reports show what we fixed and what needs attention. Higher tiers add quarterly reviews and an IT roadmap tied to your budget.
Who it's for
A good fit if you recognise yourself here
- Businesses with roughly 5 to 250 staff and no full-time IT person
- Companies whose single IT employee needs backup cover and specialist help
- Firms that hold customer, patient or financial data and need security controls in place
- Teams spread across offices and homes who need one help desk for everyone
- Owners who want a predictable monthly IT cost instead of surprise bills
United Kingdom
Managed IT for businesses in the UK
Showing appropriate security measures
UK GDPR asks for security appropriate to the risk. A managed plan produces patch reports, access reviews and backup checks that help demonstrate those measures to clients, insurers or the ICO if questions are ever asked.
Monitoring beyond nine to five
Monitoring tools keep watching devices, backups and email at weekends and on bank holidays, logging outages and suspicious activity as they happen, which matters for retail, hospitality and care providers that do not keep office hours. The support hours our team works for you are agreed in your service agreement.
Data residency in UK cloud regions
We can build and manage workloads in Azure UK South or AWS eu-west-2 in London, so data stays in UK regions where your contracts or customers expect it.
Supplier assurance and Cyber Essentials
If bids or customers ask for Cyber Essentials, a managed plan keeps the five controls in place all year round, not just in the weeks before an assessment. Our Cyber Essentials support covers preparation and upkeep; the certificate comes from an accredited certification body.

Support terms
Support hours and response times, in writing
Support hours in writing
Help desk hours and response times are agreed in your service agreement before we start, by plan and by priority, so everyone knows exactly what is covered.
Monitoring that runs continuously
Monitoring tools watch your devices, accounts and network all the time and raise alerts for our team to act on. How urgent outages outside support hours are handled is agreed up front.
Priority handling
Outages affecting several people or a security alert jump the queue and stay with an engineer until resolved. Routine requests are worked in order and you're updated throughout.
Clear escalation
Every plan has a named escalation path. If a ticket isn't moving, you know who to contact and when you'll hear back.
Monitoring
What our monitoring watches
- Device health: disk, memory, CPU, battery and storage
- Missed patches and unsupported software
- Antivirus and EDR detections
- Risky or unusual sign-ins to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Firewall, internet link and Wi-Fi availability
- Backup job success and failures
Security and backups
Layered protection, tested recovery
Layered protection
Managed antivirus or EDR on every device, email filtering for phishing and malware, DNS filtering and secure configuration baselines.
Identity first
Multi-factor sign-in for every account, conditional access where your licences support it, and admin rights limited to the people who need them.
Backups you can restore
Cloud backup of Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace mail, files and Teams/Drive data, plus key devices and servers. We run test restores and report the results.
Incident response
If something gets through, we isolate the affected device, reset credentials, investigate and tell you exactly what happened and what we changed.
Data protection
Data-protection rules we help you work within in the UK
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
Any organisation handling personal data about people in the UK must have a lawful basis for it, keep it accurate and no longer than needed, and protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures. Personal data breaches that pose a risk to people must be reported to the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of them, and most organisations that process personal data need to pay the ICO data protection fee.
How we help: We help you build a record of where personal data is held, restrict access by role, enforce MFA, encrypt laptops and mobiles, configure retention and backups, and write a breach-response runbook so the 72-hour clock does not catch you unprepared. Decisions on lawful basis and legal interpretation stay with you and your advisers.
Official source ↗Cyber Essentials (government-backed scheme)
Cyber Essentials is a voluntary, government-backed certification run through the NCSC that covers five technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management. Some public-sector and supply-chain contracts ask suppliers to hold it.
How we help: We help clients prepare for assessment by working through each control: configuring firewalls, removing unused accounts and software, applying patches within the expected window and setting up malware protection. We are not an assessor or certification body; you apply through an accredited one.

IT Desk vs in-house IT
How a managed provider compares
| TechPit IT Desk | In-house hire | |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Agreed support hours, with holidays and sick days covered by the team | One person's hours, unless you pay for on-call |
| Skills | A team covering support, networks, cloud and security | One or two people who can't know everything |
| Cost | Predictable monthly fee per user | Salary, benefits, training, tools and recruitment |
| Tools | Monitoring, security and backup platforms included | Bought and maintained separately |
| Scaling | Add or remove users month to month | Hire or let go |
| Knowledge risk | Everything documented and shared | Knowledge leaves when the person does |
Is a managed service cheaper than hiring an IT person in the UK?
It depends on your size and needs, so we would rather compare the two with you than quote a general figure. A plan does put a team behind the service, so holidays and sickness do not leave you without support, which one employee cannot provide alone.
Where are your managed IT plan prices?
Prices for each tier are shown on this page in US dollars and are billed monthly.
Can you visit our office if needed?
Our plans are built around remote delivery. If you have occasional on-site needs, ask us about them and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange.
Does a managed plan make us UK GDPR compliant?
No service can make you compliant on its own. We operate security measures the ICO expects to see, such as access control, encryption, patching and backups, and give you records of that work, while you remain the data controller.
Can we keep our existing Microsoft 365 or Google tenant?
Yes. We take over administration of what you already have, tidy it up and document it, rather than moving you to something new for the sake of it.
Do you offer managed IT services in London, including Sutton and Croydon?
Yes. Our managed IT services cover businesses across London, including Sutton and Croydon, and the wider UK. The plans are delivered remotely: monitoring, patching, the help desk and security all run without anyone needing to be in your building. If you need occasional on-site help, that is by arrangement and agreed when we scope the plan.
Is Cyber Essentials support included in a managed plan?
The day-to-day work Cyber Essentials depends on is included: applying security updates, malware protection, firewall and device configuration, and removing unused accounts. Preparing for the assessment itself, such as gathering evidence and working through the questionnaire with you, may be scoped as a separate piece of work. We are not a certification body, so the certificate is issued by the accredited assessor you apply through.
What does a managed service provider do?
A managed service provider takes responsibility for your IT for a monthly fee. That usually means a help desk for staff, monitoring and patching devices, managing security tools, backing up data, handling user accounts and licences, and advising on upgrades. You get a whole team instead of a single person, with costs agreed in advance.
How fast do you respond?
Support hours and response times are agreed in your service agreement before we start, by plan and by priority. Every request is logged, tracked and owned by a named person, and outages or security alerts are always handled first and stay with an engineer until they are resolved.
Which countries do you support?
IT Desk is delivered remotely to businesses in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. We agree support hours that suit your business day before we start, and for hardware that needs hands on site we coordinate with you or a local supplier.
