Outsourced IT Support and Automation for American Small Businesses
TechPit Solutions provides outsourced IT support to small and mid-sized companies across the United States, acting as their remote IT team: help desk, device management, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, security hardening and workflow automation. Whether your staff start in Boston or finish in Seattle, we agree support hours that suit your business day before we start.
Support hours and response times are set out in your service agreement. We are a remote team and deliver everything remotely, which keeps the setup simple: no truck rolls, no waiting for a technician, just secure remote sessions and clear written updates.
Beyond fixing problems, we help American firms answer the questions that keep landing on their desks, from cyber insurance renewal forms to state privacy requests, and we automate the repetitive admin work that eats into billable hours. Firms that already employ an IT person can bring us in on a co-managed IT basis, where we take agreed pieces such as monitoring, patching or security projects and your own staff stay in charge.

Doing business in the US
What growing businesses in the US tell us they need
A patchwork of state privacy laws
California led with the CCPA and CPRA, and a growing list of states has followed with laws of their own. A business selling nationally can face different notice, opt-out and data-request rules depending on where its customers live, which makes knowing where personal data sits a practical necessity.
Cyber insurance questionnaires
Carriers increasingly ask detailed questions about MFA, endpoint detection and response, offline backups and privileged access before they quote or renew. Small firms without an IT lead often discover gaps only when the form arrives.
Teams spread across four time zones
A company with staff in New York and Los Angeles has a three-hour gap inside its own walls. IT support for a small business like that needs support hours agreed with both coasts in mind, not just fitted around one office's day.
Sector rules for healthcare and finance
Dental practices, clinics, tax preparers and mortgage brokers carry federal obligations under HIPAA or the FTC Safeguards Rule on top of state law. Those rules expect documented safeguards, which is hard to produce when IT is handled ad hoc.

Typical engagements
What working together looks like in the US
Insurance-ready security baseline
A typical engagement starts by auditing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, enforcing MFA for every account, rolling out endpoint protection, and setting up backups that are tested on a schedule. The output is a plain-English summary you can hand to your broker.
Help desk for a multi-state team
For a company with staff in several states, we take over password resets, laptop setup, shared mailbox issues and software requests through one ticket queue, so requests from every state reach the same place instead of routing through head office.
Automating intake and billing admin
We connect web forms, CRM, scheduling and QuickBooks so new client details flow through without retyping, and route exceptions to a person instead of letting them sit in an inbox.
Healthcare practice technical safeguards
For a small practice, we set up unique logins, encrypted devices, secure email and audit logging, then document what was configured so it can feed into the practice's own HIPAA risk analysis.
Data protection
Privacy and security rules in the US
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA
Applies to for-profit businesses that handle personal information of California residents and meet revenue or data-volume thresholds set in the law. Covered businesses must tell people what they collect, honor requests to access, delete, correct or opt out of the sale or sharing of their data, and use reasonable security. Many other states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas, now have their own consumer privacy laws with different thresholds and rules.
How we help: We map where customer data lives across your apps and inboxes, tighten who can reach it, turn on MFA and encryption, and set up logging so data requests and incidents can be traced. Your attorney decides which state laws apply to you; we handle the technical side.
Official source ↗HIPAA Security Rule (healthcare)
Covered entities such as clinics, practices and health plans, plus the business associates that handle their data, must protect electronic protected health information with administrative, physical and technical safeguards. That starts with a documented risk analysis and includes access controls, audit controls and safeguards for data in transit.
How we help: We help practices put the technical safeguards in place: unique user accounts, MFA, encrypted laptops and email, audit logging, tested backups and device inventories. If our work would touch ePHI, a business associate agreement has to be in place before we start, and we support your risk analysis rather than replacing it.
Official source ↗FTC Safeguards Rule (financial-services firms)
Non-bank financial institutions such as mortgage brokers, tax preparers, auto dealers that offer financing and similar firms need a written information security program. The rule expects a named qualified individual, a risk assessment, MFA, encryption of customer information, staff training and, for certain breaches, notification to the FTC.
How we help: We deploy MFA across email and line-of-business apps, encrypt devices and file shares, set up monitoring and change logs, and draft the technical sections of your security program and incident runbook for your qualified individual to review and own.

FAQ
Questions from businesses in the US
How does a remote team work with American business hours?
We agree support hours that suit your business day before we start, and those hours and our response times are set out in your service agreement. Video calls are booked in your own time zone, whether that is Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific.
Where is our company data stored when you manage our systems?
Your data stays in your own tenants and accounts, such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or AWS, in the US regions you choose. We access them through named admin accounts protected by MFA and do not copy your files onto our own servers.
Do you invoice in US dollars?
Yes. Quotes and invoices for American clients are issued in USD, and we can work with the payment methods your accounts team already uses.
Can you help us fill out our cyber insurance questionnaire?
We can tell you, control by control, what is actually in place, such as MFA on email and remote access, endpoint detection, backups and patching, and close the gaps before you sign. The answers on the form remain yours to confirm with your broker.
Will you send a technician to our office?
No. We have no US office, so all work is done remotely. For hardware swaps or cabling we can coordinate with a local vendor you pick and handle the configuration side ourselves.
What is co-managed IT, and do you offer it?
Co-managed IT is an arrangement where your in-house IT person or team shares the workload with an outside provider. We do offer it: your staff keep ownership of the environment and the day-to-day decisions, and we take agreed pieces such as first-line help desk tickets, monitoring, patching or security projects. The split is written into the scope, so nothing falls between two teams.
What does IT support for a small business include?
IT support for a small business covers the everyday requests your staff raise: password resets, email and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace problems, laptop setup, software installs, printer and Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and account changes when people join or leave. Each request is logged as a ticket and handled within the support hours and response times set out in your service agreement. Continuous monitoring, patching and backup checks are part of our monthly managed IT plans.
