Back Office
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks or Xero, with clean reconciliations and a dependable month-end close.
Good bookkeeping is not glamorous, but almost every financial decision you make depends on it. If bank feeds are months behind, invoices are tracked in someone's inbox and receipts live in a shoebox, you are guessing about cash flow and profitability. We take over the routine work of recording, categorising and reconciling transactions so your books reflect what is actually happening in the business.
We work remotely in QuickBooks Online, Xero and similar platforms, handling bank and card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and a consistent month-end routine. You get tidy ledgers, clear supporting documents and a short list of questions each month instead of a pile of loose ends.
We are bookkeepers, not accountants or CPAs, and we do not give tax or legal advice. We work alongside your existing accountant or tax advisor, keep the records they need in the format they prefer, and make year-end and tax filing easier for everyone involved.
In short
What do remote bookkeeping services cover?
Remote bookkeeping services cover the day-to-day recording, categorising, and reconciling of a business's transactions in software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero. TechPit Solutions handles bank and card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, a month-end close, and monthly financial reports. The team are bookkeepers, not accountants, so they work alongside the client's accountant and do not give tax or legal advice.
- Best for small and growing businesses whose owner still does the books, or whose records have fallen months behind.
- Delivered remotely on a weekly and monthly cycle; after a free consultation we review your books, clear any backlog, and begin regular upkeep.
Who this is for
- Small and growing businesses whose owner is still doing the books late at night
- Companies that have fallen behind on reconciliations and need a catch-up followed by steady monthly upkeep
- Service businesses and online stores with a high volume of small transactions, invoices or refunds
- Firms whose accountant keeps asking for cleaner records before year-end
- Teams moving from spreadsheets or desktop software to QuickBooks Online or Xero
Problems we fix
- Bank and credit card accounts have not been reconciled for months, so balances cannot be trusted
- Customer invoices go unpaid because nobody is following up on overdue receivables
- Bills are paid late, twice, or without approval because there is no clear payables process
- Transactions are categorised inconsistently, which makes profit and loss reports hard to read
- Year-end turns into a scramble to find receipts and explain transactions to the accountant
What's included
What our Bookkeeping service includes
Transaction recording and categorisation
We review bank feeds, card transactions and receipts, then code them to the right accounts using a chart of accounts agreed with you and your accountant.
Bank and card reconciliations
Every bank, credit card and payment processor account is reconciled to its statement each month, with unmatched items investigated and flagged rather than ignored.
Accounts payable
We enter supplier bills, match them to purchase orders or receipts where available, track due dates and prepare payment runs for your approval.
Accounts receivable
We raise invoices from your instructions, record payments, keep the aged receivables report current and send polite, consistent reminders on overdue balances.
Month-end close
A repeatable checklist covering reconciliations, accruals your accountant asks for, review of suspense items and a locked period once the month is complete.
Monthly financial reports
Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash summaries delivered each month with short notes on anything unusual, ready to share with your accountant or investors.
Benefits
Why it's worth doing properly
Numbers you can rely on
Reconciled accounts mean the cash balance and profit figures on screen match reality, so decisions about hiring, spending and pricing rest on solid ground.
Better cash collection
Regular receivables follow-up keeps overdue invoices visible and makes it far less likely that money owed to you is quietly forgotten.
Smoother year-end
Your accountant receives organised books with supporting documents attached, which reduces back-and-forth questions during tax preparation.
Time back for the owner
Instead of spending evenings categorising transactions, you review a short monthly summary and answer a handful of specific questions.
Process
How the work runs
- STEP 01
Assess your books
We review your current software, chart of accounts, bank connections and backlog, then talk to you and your accountant about reporting needs and any known problem areas.
- STEP 02
Design the routine
We agree on a chart of accounts, approval rules for bills, document collection methods and a monthly calendar so everyone knows what happens and when.
- STEP 03
Implement and catch up
We connect bank feeds, set up receipt capture, clear any backlog of unreconciled months and begin the regular weekly and monthly bookkeeping cycle.
- STEP 04
Monitor and report
Each month we close the books, send your reports with notes, review open questions with you and adjust the process as the business changes.

FAQ
Bookkeeping: common questions
Are you accountants, and can you file my taxes?
No. We are bookkeepers, not accountants or CPAs, and we do not prepare tax returns or give tax or legal advice. Our role is to keep your day-to-day records accurate and organised. We work alongside your accountant or tax advisor, follow their preferences for account coding and year-end adjustments, and hand over clean books so they can focus on tax planning and filing.
Which bookkeeping software do you work with?
We mainly work in QuickBooks Online and Xero, and we can also support Wave, FreshBooks and spreadsheet-based systems. If you are not on a cloud platform yet, we can help you choose one with your accountant's input and move your opening balances and history across. We also connect receipt capture tools like Dext or Hubdoc so documents are attached to transactions.
My books are months behind. Can you catch them up?
Yes. Catch-up work is common. We start by gathering bank and card statements for the missing period, then reconcile month by month, flagging anything we cannot identify for you to confirm. Once the backlog is cleared, we move into a regular monthly routine so the books do not fall behind again. The time involved depends on transaction volume and how complete your records are.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
Cost depends on the number of bank and card accounts, monthly transaction volume, how many invoices and bills you process, whether there is a backlog to clear and how often you want reports. A business with a few accounts and steady volume needs far less time than one with several entities and payment processors. Book a free consultation and we will review your setup and give you a clear quote.
How do you keep my financial data secure?
We use the access controls built into your accounting software, with our own named user accounts rather than shared logins, and multi-factor authentication wherever the platform supports it. We only request the permissions needed for the work. You stay the owner of your accounting file and can review or remove our access at any time. Documents are exchanged through secure cloud storage rather than email attachments where possible.
What do you need from me each month?
Usually very little. We ask you to keep bank feeds connected, forward or upload receipts and supplier bills, approve payment runs and answer a short list of questions about transactions we cannot identify on our own. This usually takes a small amount of your time each month. If you have questions in between, every request is logged, tracked and owned by a named person.
