TechPit Solutions · Canada
Remote IT Support and Automation for Canadian Small Businesses
TechPit Solutions works as a remote IT department for small and mid-sized organizations across Canada, from Toronto and the rest of the GTA to Calgary, Vancouver and Halifax. We handle help desk tickets, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, laptop and phone management, security controls and the automations that cut down on manual data entry.
We are a fully remote team. Whether your staff start the day in St. John's or finish late in Victoria, we agree support hours that suit your business day before we start, and those hours and our response times are set out in your service agreement.
Canadian firms also juggle federal and provincial privacy rules and, in Quebec, French-language expectations. We keep the technical side organized so your team can focus on clients.

Doing business in Canada
What growing businesses in Canada tell us they need
Bilingual workplaces in Quebec
Quebec's Charter of the French Language sets expectations for French in the workplace, including software and documentation available to staff. Firms with Montréal or Québec City teams need systems that can run comfortably in French.
Law 25 brought new obligations
Quebec's privacy reform introduced incident registers, privacy officers and impact assessments for transfers outside the province. Even businesses headquartered in Ontario or Alberta feel it once they serve Quebec customers.
PIPEDA alongside provincial laws
Federal PIPEDA covers commercial activity in most provinces, while Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own private-sector privacy laws. A national business often needs to understand more than one regime.
Six time zones, one support queue
Canada stretches from Newfoundland to British Columbia, so a company with offices in both can have staff working four and a half hours apart. Support hours need to be agreed with every region in mind, not just head office.
IT Desk in Canada
Managed IT plans for Canada, priced in USD
Help desk, monitoring, patching, security and backups for a fixed monthly fee per user. We agree support hours that suit your business day (Eastern Time (Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal), Pacific Time (Vancouver), Mountain Time (Calgary, Edmonton), Central Time (Winnipeg), Atlantic Time (Halifax)) before we start.

Typical engagements
What working together looks like in Canada
Privacy-ready Microsoft 365 setup
In a typical engagement we enforce MFA, apply sensitivity labels and retention, confirm that tenant data sits in a Canadian region, and set up audit logging that supports breach records under PIPEDA and Law 25.
Bilingual onboarding automation
New hires get accounts, licences, French or English language settings and the right shared drives through one onboarding form, with a checklist that IT and HR can both follow.
Remote help desk for a cross-country team
For an organization with staff in several provinces, we run one ticket queue for laptops, phones, printers and SaaS access, with updates sent by email so everyone can see progress.
Incident register and response runbook
We create a confidentiality incident log, define who is called when something goes wrong, and test backup restores, so your privacy officer has the facts ready if a report is needed.
Data protection
Privacy and security rules in Canada
PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
PIPEDA governs how private-sector organizations collect, use and disclose personal information in commercial activity, except where a province has a substantially similar law. It is built on ten fair information principles, including accountability, consent and safeguards. Breaches of security safeguards that create a real risk of significant harm must be reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and to affected individuals, and every breach must be recorded.
How we help: We help you inventory personal information across systems, limit access to people who need it, enforce MFA, encrypt devices and backups, and keep incident logs in a format that supports your breach record. Interpretation of the law remains with you and your legal counsel.
Official source ↗Quebec Law 25 (Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information)
Organizations handling personal information of Quebec residents must name a person in charge of protecting it (by default the highest-ranking executive), publish governance policies, keep a register of confidentiality incidents and report serious ones to the Commission d'accès à l'information. Privacy impact assessments are required in several cases, including before personal information is communicated outside Quebec.
How we help: We set up an incident register and response runbook, document where data is stored and who can reach it, and provide the technical facts your privacy officer needs for impact assessments, such as hosting regions, encryption and access logging.

FAQ
Questions from businesses in Canada
How do you support teams spread across Canadian time zones?
We agree support hours with you before we start, taking account of where your staff are, from Halifax to Vancouver. Those hours and our response times are set out in your service agreement, and every request goes into one ticket queue whichever office raised it.
Can our data stay in Canada?
Yes, your data lives in your own tenants, and Microsoft, Google and AWS all offer Canadian regions such as Azure Canada Central in Toronto. Our engineers connect remotely from outside Canada, and we document that access so your privacy officer can account for it.
What currency do you bill in?
All our plans are priced and invoiced in US dollars (USD), including for Canadian clients.
Can you configure systems in French for our Quebec staff?
We can set up Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and most business apps with French interfaces, templates and email signatures. Our support conversations are in English, so tell us if your team needs French-language user support.
What contract terms do you use?
We agree the scope, response commitments and notice period in writing before work starts. Your accounts and licences stay in your organization's name throughout.
Do you support businesses in Toronto and the GTA?
Yes, remotely. We provide IT support to businesses in Toronto and across the GTA, including Mississauga, Brampton, Markham and Vaughan, working on Eastern Time. We have no Canadian office, so nobody will arrive at your door: help desk, device management and security are handled through secure remote sessions, and any hardware or cabling work is coordinated with a local supplier you choose.
How do you help with PIPEDA safeguards?
We put in place the technical safeguards PIPEDA expects around personal information: multi-factor sign-in, role-based access, encrypted devices and backups, and logging that supports your breach records. Because our engineers connect from outside Canada, we document that access so your privacy officer can reflect it in your policies. Whether PIPEDA or a provincial law applies to you is for your legal counsel to confirm.
