Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace Setup

Business email on your own domain, shared storage and collaboration tools in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, set up properly.

Remote team · Clients worldwideHire us on Upwork

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace give small businesses professional email, shared calendars, file storage and video calls in one subscription. Setting them up properly takes more than buying licences. Domain records, mail migration, storage structure, permissions and security settings all need attention, and getting them wrong leads to missing emails, lost files and messages landing in spam.

We handle the full setup. That starts with business email on your own domain, with the DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC) configured so your mail is delivered and harder to spoof. We then move existing mailboxes, contacts and calendars from Gmail, Outlook, another host or an old server, without losing history.

We also organise your files. Whether you use SharePoint and OneDrive or Google Drive and shared drives, we build a folder structure that matches how your team works, set permissions by role, and make sure company files belong to the company rather than to one person's account. The result is a workspace your team can use from day one.

In short

What does Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace setup involve?

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace setup involves creating business email on a company's own domain, configuring the MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, migrating existing mailboxes, contacts, and calendars, and organising shared file storage with permissions by role. TechPit Solutions also sets up multi-factor authentication, configures devices, runs a short training session, and documents every setting and admin account.

  • Best for new businesses needing email on their own domain, and teams moving from free accounts or an old email host.
  • Delivered remotely after a free consultation, with a planned migration schedule and a clear cutover date agreed with you in advance.

Who this is for

  • New businesses that need professional email addresses on their own domain
  • Teams still using free Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail addresses for business
  • Companies moving from an old email host, on-site Exchange server or one platform to the other
  • Businesses whose files are scattered across personal drives, USB sticks and email attachments
  • Growing teams that need shared mailboxes, calendars and storage with proper permissions

Problems we fix

  • Emails from your business land in customers' spam folders or bounce
  • Staff use personal email accounts, so company data leaves when they do
  • Nobody can find the latest version of a document or knows who has access
  • Migrating years of email feels risky, so the move keeps getting postponed
  • Licences, admin accounts and security settings were never set up deliberately

Benefits

Why it's worth doing properly

  • A professional first impression

Every message comes from your own domain, which builds trust with customers and suppliers and keeps your brand consistent.

  • Better email delivery

Correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC records help your messages reach inboxes and make it harder for scammers to send mail pretending to be you.

  • Files your team can actually find

A clear storage structure with shared drives and version history ends the hunt for the latest copy and keeps work available from any device.

  • Company data stays with the company

Business-owned accounts and controlled sharing mean you keep email and files when staff leave, and you decide who sees what.

FAQ

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace: common questions

Should we choose Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?

Both are solid choices. Microsoft 365 suits businesses that rely on desktop Word, Excel and Outlook, or work with clients who do. Google Workspace is simple to manage and works very well in the browser. We look at the software your team already uses, how you collaborate and what your clients expect, then recommend the better fit for your business.

What are MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records?

They are DNS settings on your domain. MX records tell the internet where to deliver your email. SPF lists which services may send mail for your domain. DKIM adds a digital signature that proves messages were not altered. DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with mail that fails those checks. Together they improve delivery and make spoofing your domain much harder.

Will we lose any email during migration?

We plan migrations to avoid that. Existing mail is copied to the new platform in the background while you keep using the old one. On cutover day we update the MX records, then run a final sync to catch anything that arrived during the change. We check mailboxes with your team afterward and keep the old account available for a short period as a safety net.

How much does Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace setup cost?

Cost depends on the number of users, how much email and file data needs to move, where it is coming from, how complex your permissions are and whether you want ongoing administration. License fees are paid to Microsoft or Google separately. Book a free consultation and we will review your setup and send a clear quote before any work begins.

Can you organise our existing files during the move?

Yes. Before migrating files we agree on a structure with you, usually by department, client or function, and decide who should have access to each area. We then move files into SharePoint or shared drives, clear up obvious duplicates with your approval, and set up sync so staff see the same files on their computers as in the browser.

What happens when someone leaves the company?

Because accounts are owned by the business, you keep everything. We can block the person's sign-in, transfer or convert their mailbox, move their files to a manager or shared drive and reclaim the license. We document a simple leaver checklist so this happens the same way each time, and we can handle it for you as part of ongoing support.
